Information about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

If you are from the European Economic Area (EEA), we may collect and use your information. In this section of this privacy policy, we explain clearly how and why this data is collected, and how we protect it from being copied or used inappropriately.

What is GDPR?

GDPR is an EU privacy and data protection law that regulates how the data of EU residents is protected by businesses and improves the control EU residents have over their personal data.

GDPR applies to any company operating globally, not just EU businesses and EU residents. Our customers' data is important no matter where they are located, so we have implemented GDPR controls as a basic standard for all operations globally.

What is personal data?

Any data relating to an identifiable or identified person. GDPR covers a wide range of information that can be used alone or in combination with other information to identify an individual. Personal data goes beyond a person's name or email address. Some examples include financial information, political opinions, genetic data, biometric data, IP addresses, physical addresses, sexual orientation and race.

The data protection principles include the following requirements:

● Personal data collected must be processed fairly, lawfully and transparently, and should only be used in ways that the individual reasonably expects.

Personal data shall be used only to fulfill a specific purpose and only for that purpose. Organizations need to explain why they need it when collecting personal data.

Personal data should not be retained longer than necessary to fulfill its purpose.

Individuals subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) have the right to access their personal data. They may also request a copy of your data and have your data updated, deleted, restricted or transferred to another organization.

Why is GDPR important?

GDPR adds a number of new requirements about how businesses should protect the personal data they collect and process about people. Compliance efforts have also been stepped up through increased enforcement and greater penalties for non-compliance. Apart from these facts, it is absolutely the right thing to do. At RayoGo, we firmly believe that the privacy of your data is important, and we have implemented strict security and privacy measures that go beyond what is required by this new regulation.

Rights of Personal Data Subjects: Access, Portability and Deletion

We are committed to helping our clients meet data subject rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. RayoGo processes or stores all personal data with fully verified and DPA compliant vendors. We store all conversations and personal data for up to 6 years unless your account is deleted. In this case, we will delete all data in accordance with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, but will not keep it for more than 60 days.

We understand that if you are working with EU customers, you must be able to provide them with the ability to access, update, retrieve and delete personal data. We got you! We've positioned ourselves as self-service from the start and always provide you with access to your data and customer data. Our customer support team will answer any questions you may have about using the API.
